Summer Breakfast Treat: Cereal Milk Smoothie

Hi Everyone!

If you know me at all then you probably know that I LOVE cereal, I could literally eat it for breakfast , lunch, and dinner and be completely happy.  One of the most satisfying things for me is the milk leftover.  There is nothing better than drinking that sweet ice cold milk straight from the bowl!

In the interest of health I have recently tried to cut most grains out of my everyday diet and sadly the cereal had to go too.

Because I cut out grains I had to come up with more creative ways to prepare breakfast for myself and through this endeavour I have discovered THE perfect fruit smoothy that tastes just like the cereal milk left over from a bowl of Cap'n Crunch, just without the grains and all that added sugar.  I love it so much and it's so simple so I had to share it with all of you!

Ingredients:

Sliced Peaches
Strawberries
Grapes
Low Fat Cool Whip
Low Fat Milk

You will want to gather up all of your fruit, get it sliced, and then get it into the freezer.  This is a great way to prepare a ton of fruit and have it ready to go for the entire week.  When you are ready to make your smoothie just throw in all of your fruit in equal parts.  Then pour in your milk until it completely covers the fruit.  If you don't drink milk you could alway substitute it with almond or soy milk.  Next is what I believe to be key.  You will want to add about a table spoon of low fat cool whip.  Cool whip has less than one gram of sugar per table spoon so you don't need to worry about it as added sugar.  I find that the cool whip adds a really delicious creamy vanilla flavor.

Now, once you blend it you're all finished!  If you are a cereal lover I really hope you find this as satisfying as I do!

Have a blessed weekend everyone, I hope to see you back here next time!
