Pretty books to help you elevate your space

Hey everyone! Today we are talking about one on my favorite things, books! I seriously love beautiful books both for their insides and outsides but today we are breaking some rules and judging these books by their covers.  I love to decorate with books so I am always looking for pretty additions that I can display around my home.  All the books I am about to share with you guys don't just sit on my bookshelf but are actually displayed in some way around my home.  I hope you have fun reading through this post and I hope you feel inspired to have fun with decorating your own homes with some of your favorite books!

1. Vintage Cakes

"Each recipe in Vintage Cakes is a confectionary stroll down memory lane."

I have this recipe book displayed on a buffet table in my dining room.  If there was a color palette to perfectly describe my style it would be this.  I just think this is such a beautiful book and adds the perfect touch.  I have also tried some of the recipes in this book and I just have to mention if you own this book or are thinking of owning it you must try the double dip caramel cake, it is absolutely delicious!

2. Emma

"Dear papa, you cannot think that I will leave off match-making!"

This book is part of the Vintage Classic Jane Austen series, which as you can see this one happens to be Emma.  I have the complete set of six but this one is my absolute favorite!  I love the colors and the water color finish it's just so gorgeous!  You would have seen this in a stack with two other in my last post about how to decorate the top of your bookcase.

3. Harry Potter

"Your mother died to save you.  If there is one thing Voldemort cannot understand, it is love."

I obviously couldn't complete this list without including the gorgeous illustrated editions of Harry Potter, which are perfect for my coffee table.  As of now the first two books are the only ones available in this edition but as far as I know eventually all seven will be available (I can't wait!).  I actually wasn't allowed to read Harry Potter when I was younger so I just started reading them a little over a year ago.  I am enjoying myself so much that I am spacing them out as much as possible because I don't want them to end!  I am just so in love with this series, the world, and the characters and I will be so heartbroken when it's over!  I am, however, strongly looking forward to re-reading them all in these illustrated versions.  I think it will add a whole new element to the experience!

4. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

"Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

This book is part of the Puffin in Bloom editions and is also full of the cutest illustrations.  It is the perfect way to add a bit of whimsy to your home!

5. Pride and Prejudice

"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife."

This is another one of those books that when I saw it I just had to have it!  It's so bright and fun and filled with quirky illustrations.  It has fully earned it's right to be specially displayed on my bookcase!  This is also one of my favorite stories and I will definitely be re-reading it soon in this version!

Have a great week, see you again soon!

  1. Hey there! I saw your comment on facebook in the blogging 101 feedback thread, and I gotta say that your blog is absolutely not too broad! It's still a lifestyle blog, but with a huge variety of components. My favourite blog is like that, and that may be where my blog is heading! Cover everything and anything you are passionate about. Don't restrict yourself to one very narrow niche or you could lose your authenticity. Keep shining, you can't get bored with many sup topics within the lifestyle branch!
